Cable Routing > Cable Routing in 3D Context
Automatically Load
Areas of the Nodal Network
You can use the Automatically Load Areas action in NX to avoid loading the complete nodal network of the vessel or instead of choosing which areas contain the cables in your project.
When you select a cable in Capital Cable Router, the From and To devices and the areas of the nodal network associated with the cable route are loaded automatically.
The status of the cable determines the areas that are loaded in NX:
Unrouted Cable From and To devices and the areas they belong to.
Fully / Partially Routed Cable From and To devices and the areas they belong to.
Areas belonging to the nodes and segments that the cable is fully / partially routed through.
The system also automatically loads the areas of the nodal network that belong to any segments which are identified as available to add to the path when you are building a cable route interactively.
Prerequisites
Invoke Capital Cable Router within NX. See Accessing the Embedded Capital Cable Router in NX.
Select a project in Capital Cable Router.
Procedure
From NX, click the Automatically Load Areas action on the Cable Router ribbon to activate automatic loading.
From Capital Cable Router, click the Cables tab in the Search pane and search the cables in the project. The From and To devices of the selected cable and the areas they belong to, and the areas of the nodal network associated with the cable route are displayed in the 3D visualization window. The cable route is highlighted on the nodal network.
Select the required cable. The system identifies the From and To devices and recalculates the associated areas and updates the nodal network in the 3D visualization window.
