Publishing the Design and BOM

You can publish the completed electrical schematic to Teamcenter to ensure that the design data is updated and available to all the design applications within the Electrical Design flow.

See “Teamcenter Capital Integration” in the Capital Connectors User Guide to configure the Capital and Teamcenter applications and transfer Capital authored design data.

Publishing the BOM to Teamcenter

Used to align any new or modified devices and cables in Capital with the breakdown structure in Teamcenter.

Caution

Ensure that the Include On BOM attribute on devices and multicores is selected to generate and update the Teamcenter items.

The system links the design data using the following matching parameters on the Capital object and the Teamcenter item:

PDM_ID
PDM_REV
PDM_TYPE

Any updates to the attributes and properties on an object, such as minimum and maximum cable lengths, are updated in Teamcenter.

Note

The updated design data is available downstream in Capital Cable Router to assist the routing of the electrical design. For example, updated cable lengths enable you to determine the permitted cable lengths in Capital Cable Router.

Bridge

Out

Used to publish the electrical schematic dataset, optionally split by zone, to Teamcenter using the PLMXML exchange format.

The PLMXML data is used to populate tasks in NX to facilitate the equipment placement process and enable you to validate that all content has been located correctly in the vessel.

Release

to Teamcenter

Used to release the Capital Cabling Designer design to Teamcenter to be ready for approval in the Teamcenter workflow.

The Capital design revision is changed to read‑only to avoid further modifications while the design is in approval, and the Release Level is changed to “Released to Teamcenter”.

Once the approval workflow is complete, the Release Level is changed to “Released”.

Publishing

the Design to Teamcenter

Used to publish a reference of the Capital design in Teamcenter.

The system creates a snapshot of the Capital design as PDF and XML dataset references under the relevant system node in the breakdown structure in Teamcenter.
