Converting Plugs to Ring

Terminals

You can convert single-pin plugs to ring terminals.

Procedure

Select one or more single-pin plugs on the diagram. Press the space bar and enter Convert to Ring Terminal.

Results

The selected plugs are converted to ring terminals.

If a plug with a library part assigned has one or more ring terminals specified in its housing definition the ring terminal library part with the highest factor is used as the library part for the new ring terminal. If there is no ring terminal in the library part’s housing the plug’s library part number is retained on the new ring terminal, but it will be invalid and will need updating.

Tip

“Factor” is a priority number that you can assign to sub‑components specified in a housing to indicate which one is selected as the default. See “Housing Tab” in the Capital Component Manager User Guide.

Note

Plugs with library parts assigned and the Included on BOM attribute selected cannot be converted to ring terminals. You can clear the Included on BOM attribute, perform the conversion, and then re-select the attribute.
