Locating a Source Electrical Object in a Capital Logic Designer Design

You can locate (find) the source electrical object associated with a topology object in the 3D electrical context. This action opens the Capital Logic Designer diagram containing the source object in the graphics window, and highlights that object .

You can locate the electrical source for the following objects:

• Devices, both placed and unplaced

• Wires

• Connectors

• Splices

• Multicores

• Overbraids

• Shield Terminations

Prerequisites

• You have associated wiring designs from Capital Logic Designer with your 3D electrical context. See Wiring Design Association in 3D Electrical Design.

Procedure

Right-click the topology object in one of the following locations, and choose Show Electrical Source:

• Design Browser in Capital navigator window

• Wiring Browser in Capital navigator window

• Graphics windows in a Designcenter NX environment

• Geometry area in a CATIA V5 environment

Note

If there is more than one design containing the electrical source, the Show Physical Source dialog box is displayed to choose the diagram to open.

Results

• The Capital Logic Designer diagram containing the source physical object is opened in the graphics window in an NX environment or in a electrical diagram window in a CATIA V5 environment.

• The source electrical object is highlighted in the Capital Logic Designer diagram, in the 3D electrical context, and in the MCAD diagram in the graphics window or geometry area.
