Associating Network Signals and Messages
Capital Dictionary enables network librarians to quickly establish which signals are already assigned to messages, and which are available for assignation. It also offers the ability to easily add or remove both single and multiple signals to messages.
Prerequisites
In order to edit information, the table in the Messages panel must be unlocked.
Procedure
- In the Messages panel, locate the message and click the View/modify associated signals icon; a Signals within Message screen displays detailing already associated signals, and any that are still available for association.

- Click the Add to message icon to select a single signal. Alternatively you can use SHIFT + {SELECT} to multi-select a sequence of signals, or CTRL + {SELECT} to multi-select a number of individual signals. When multi-selecting the Add to message icon changes accordingly.
- Select the signal(s) from the list and click the Add to message icon again to associate the signals to messages.
Tip: If you make an error when associating signals to a message then pressing Cancel on the dialog reverts the message to its previous state and does not save your changes.
Results
The selected signals are associated with the message.
If the signal is already associated with the message, both associations in the Signals within Message screen are red.
You can remove a signal association by selecting it in the Signals within Message screen and clicking Remove from message.
