Connectivity Hub > Pin Mapping

Pin Mapping overview

Pin Mapping is how Connectivity Hub takes the synthesized (conceptual) connectivity on a Platform Component and maps it onto real pins — either on a library device, or against a published ICD.

Interface

The Pin Mapping view surfaces:

  • ICD Actions — Pin Mapping Mode, Automap to ICD, Predict Library Pin Mapping.
  • Pin Mapping Actions — Delete Pin Mapping.
  • Platform Component Connectivity (left) — the synthesized connectivity on the Platform Component.
  • Library or ICD Pin Details (right) — the pins available on the target library device or ICD.
  • Connectivity View & ICD Compare — visualize and compare synthesized connectivity against target pins.

Pin Mapping modes

There are three modes, selected in Pin Mapping Mode:

  • Manual — manually enter pin names for platform connectivity.
  • Library — map platform connectivity to library device pins.
  • ICD — map platform connectivity to ICD pins.

Basic mapping workflow

  1. Select a Platform Connectivity row (left).
  2. Select a Device Pin row (right).
  3. Select Map Pin (shortcut: Enter).

To unmap, use Unmap Pin. You can filter the pin list to show unmapped pins only, which is useful when working through a large device's pin list incrementally.
