Selecting Specific

Objects in a Diagram Window

You can select specific objects in a diagram window in order to perform an action on them simultaneously.

Procedure

Perform one of the following actions.

If you want to ... Do the following:
Select multiple objects of all types. Click on a location at one corner of the objects you want to select, hold down the right mouse button, and drag the mouse cursor to form a box around the objects. Click the mouse button to position the opposite corner of the box; the box disappears and all objects within the box are selected.
Select multiple objects of one or more particular types. Click on one instance of each type of object, hold down the SHIFT key, and drag the mouse to form the box around the area in which you want to select objects. Click the mouse button to position the opposite corner of the box; the box disappears and the appropriate objects within the box are selected.

Examples

You have the following design.

To select only the name text in the design, you click on one instance of name text and then hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard and drag the mouse cursor to form a box around the design.

When you click to place the opposite corner of the box, the box disappears and the name text in the diagram is selected:
