Adding Pins to a Stack

You can add existing pins to an existing stacked pin.

Prerequisites

• The pins to be added to the stack must have been placed on the object instance.

• The stacked pin exists. See Creating a Stacked Pin.

Procedure

1. Select the pins to be added:Press the space bar and enter Add to Stack.

Right-click and select Add to Stack.

The cursor changes to and a red square () indicates the current target grid point. Circles indicate stacked pins that you can add the selected pins to. Note For pins that are connected to a shield termination, the Add to Stack action is only available if the other end of the shield termination is connected to a multicore or overbraid indicator.

2. Move the cursor over the stack to add the pins to.The cursor changes to .

3. Click to add the pins to the stack.

Results

• The selected pins are no longer displayed on the diagram.

• If conductors are connected to the selected pins, they maintain their connectivity. If a highway already interfaces with the stack, they are added to that highway. If there was no existing highway, the conductors are placed in a new highway that interfaces with the stacked pin.

• If a pin with a shield termination is added to the stack, the shield termination disappears from the diagram but the pin retains the connectivity to the shield termination.
