Selecting the Electrical Project and Harnesses

Selecting Platform Harnesses

After 3D Electrical Design has been launched in the MCAD environment and you have selected the electrical project from Capital that you want to use, you must select the platform harnesses (from the MCAD data) that you want to constitute the platform topology for your wiring connectivity in the 3D electrical context.

Prerequisites

  • An electrical project must be open. See Selecting the Electrical Project from Capital.

Procedure

  1. Click the Platform Harnesses icon () on the ribbon in an Designcenter NX environment or in the Capital Workbench in a CATIA V5 environment. The Select Platform Harnesses Dialog Box is displayed.

  2. Add the required harness(es) to the table.

Click Add Harness () to add any harnesses selected in the Assembly Navigator
             to the table.

Click Search Harness () to have the system scan the platform and automatically
add the relevant harnesses to the table.

Click Delete Harness () to remove the
selected row from the table, thereby removing the harness from the platform.

  3. Click Apply and Close to associate the harnesses shown in the table with the 3D electrical context and then close the Platform Harnesses dialog box, or click Apply to associate the harnesses shown in the table and leave the dialog box open for further changes. The synchronization process with Capital begins with feedback shown in the Capital Output window.

Results

  • The harnesses shown in the table are associated with the 3D electrical context.
