Signal Map for Slot Dialog

Box

To access: Right-click a slot and select Signal Map.

Used to display the mapping of signals and wires to connector cavities and holes on a slot. The fields in this dialog box are read-only.

Objects

Field Description
Connectors Tab Lists the devices, connectors, ring terminals, and holes on the slot. You can click the column headers to order the contents of the columns alphanumerically. If no object is selected, mappings to all objects on the slot are listed in the Signal Mappings table. Select an object to display mappings to that object only. To display all mappings again, click the selected object to toggle back to the full signal mapping view.
Signal Mappings Tab Lists signal or wire mappings for the slot. You can click the column headers to order the contents of the columns alphanumerically. If no object is selected in the Device & Connector table, all mappings in the slot are listed on the tab. Select an object to display mappings to that object only.
Connector Name of the connector, hole, or ring terminal to which the signal or wire is mapped. Determined by the selected connector. Read‑only.
Cavity Name of the cavity on the connector.
Harness Lists the harness or harnesses through which the signal or wire passes. Determined by the selected connector. Read-only.
Wire Displays the wire that is carrying the signal and is mapped to the connector cavity in the cavity column. Read-only.
Multicore Displays the name of the multicore to which the wire belongs.Read-only
Pin Name of the device pin to which the signal or wire is mapped. Read-only.
Device Name of the device to which the signal or wire is mapped. Read-only.
Slot instance filter (Show only connectors and holes present on selected slot / Show connectors and holes on all slot appearances in the design) Filters the contents of the Signal Mappings tab to only display connectors and holes on the selected instance of the slot. You can toggle this setting to display all connectors and holes on all instances of the slot.
Show Faceviews Hide Faceviews Opens or closes the Connector Faceview panel at the side of the Signal Map dialog box. The Faceview icons are unavailable if there are no accessible comment symbols for the connectors. See Viewing a Connector Faceview Symbol in a Signal Map. Note The Connector Faceview panel is not displayed by default when you first open a Signal Map dialog box. Your preference to show or hide the panel is preserved when you reopen the Signal Map dialog box.
Connector Faceview Panel Used to select and display a connector Faceview symbol.
Connector Choose the connector to open a Faceview symbol.
Symbol Select the comment symbol to use as the Faceview. Each item in the list consists of a symbol library name and symbol name. If the connector has a library part with associated Faceview symbols in Capital Component Manager, the symbols are listed in the panel for selection. Note A Faceview symbol is created as a comment symbol with pins in Capital Symbol Designer. If the library part does not have associated Faceview symbols in Capital Component Manager, the panel searches for symbols (with the same name as the connector part number) in the symbol libraries specified in the “Connector View Libraries” project preference for Capital Wiring Integrator.
Faceview Window Displays the selected comment symbol. Note If you select a cavity in the Faceview or Signal Mappings tab, it is highlighted in both of those locations. To highlight a cavity in the Faceview, the connector cavity name must match a datum name on the symbol. If you have a refined connector and therefore multiple Faceviews, the displayed Faceview symbol changes accordingly as part of the cross‑highlighting.
