Multi-Connecting Pins
You can add multiple wires or nets using the Multi-connect functionality.
Tip
Using the Multi-connect functionality is often quicker than adding multiple wires or nets individually.
Procedure
Press the space bar and enter Multi-connect, and then select Multi-connect by Wire or Multi-connect by Nets from the Search Ribbon dropdown list. Alternatively, press Ctrl+Shift+W to add multiple wires or Ctrl+Shift+N to add multiple nets.
Select the pins at the first end of each wire / net:Drawing a box around the pins.
Press Ctrl and select the pins in turn, and then release Ctrl.
The selected pins are colored red and numbered in sequence and a gray shadow connection is displayed.
- Indicate the pins at the second end of each wire / net:Drawing a box around the pins.
Clicking the pins in turn.
Selected pins are colored green with dashed lines indicating the proposed connectivity. You can right-click and select Backup or press Backspace to amend incorrect selections of target pins.
- Once all the connections have been placed, press the Enter key or click (anywhere) to commit.
Results
The dashed connection lines change to solid. The adding of multiple wires onto a stacked pin is supported as is multi-pin terminations.
Note
In Multi-connect mode you can also add connections to points without pins. If you select a point on the edge of an object, a new pin is added; if you select a point elsewhere, a dangling connection is added, which can later be connected to a pin.
Tip
You can cancel the operation at any point in the Multi-connect action by right-clicking and selecting Cancel or by pressing the Esc key.
