Synthesizing Non-Composite Wiring for Signals

You can synthesize non-composite wiring for selected or all logical signals in the design. This is used only if you are working with a design that has no complexity (that is, only a single harness level, which normally means there are no options).

Note

This is available only if you have the Capital Systems Integrator Fundamentals license (not the full Capital Systems Integrator license). If you have that license, you can use Composite or Modular Wiring Synthesis to synthesize wiring. See Composite Wiring Synthesis and Modular Wiring Synthesis.

Prerequisites

  • You must set the harness level for each harness in the design as active. This means that the system can generate wires and routing through all of the harnesses. See Active Harness Level.

  • If you want to synthesize wiring for all harnesses, you must have a lock on all of them or be in single-user mode.

Procedure

Decide on the signals for which you want to synthesize wiring and follow the appropriate procedure if you have a Fundamental license or a full Capital Systems Integrator license:

If you want to... Do the following:
Synthesize wiring for selected signals Select the desired signals in the Design Browser (Design tab), right-click them, and choose Synthesize Wiring (). Figure 199: Synthesize Wiring Right-click Action
Synthesize wiring for all signals in the design Click the Synthesize All Wiring () button on the Design Browser (Design tab). Figure 200: Synthesize All Wiring Action
If you want to... Do the following:
Synthesize wiring for selected signals Select the desired signals in the Design Browser (Design tab), and do one of the following: Right-click them and choose Synthesize Wiring (). Figure 201: Synthesize Wiring Right-click Action Click the Synthesize Wiring () button on the Design Browser (Design tab). Figure 202: Synthesize Wiring Action The Wiring Synthesis dialog box displays. Select the synthesis actions that you want to run and click Go.
Synthesize wiring for all signals in the design Ensure no signal is selected, and do one of the following: Click the Synthesize Wiring () button on the Design Browser (Design tab). Figure 203: Synthesize Wiring Action Click the Synthesis ribbon action on the Automate tab at the top of the application. Figure 204: Synthesis Ribbon Action The Wiring Synthesis dialog box displays. Select the synthesis actions that you want to run and click Go.

Note

If you have a full Capital Systems Integrator license, you can use Composite or Modular Wiring Synthesis to synthesize wiring for selected signals or all signals. See Composite Wiring Synthesis and Modular Wiring Synthesis.

Results

  • The system routes the signals and generates the required wires, splices and multi-terms.

  • The system highlights the new wires on the design.

  • The Synthesis and Signal Details tabs in the Output Window report on the synthesis actions and provide details if the signal failed to route.
