Project Codes
To access: Double-click Development projects, select the required project, and then double‑click Library Data > General Data to display the available code types.
Used to control how the routing server calculates available segments when you run Automatic and Interactive cable routing.
Objects
| Code Type | Description |
|---|---|
| System Codes | Groups cables and electrical devices to represent a functional unit or discipline within a project. Used to filter devices and cables for management or reporting tasks. |
| Area or Location (Compartment) Codes | Specifies geographic locations relating to the system. Used to categorize devices and network nodes and frequently displayed as selection criteria for reports. |
| Location or Zone Codes | Used to group areas of the vessel, such as Blocks, Decks, and General-purpose. Zones can also be used in cable routing rules. You can specify other types of Zone, either with “one-to-many” or “many-to-many” relationships with Areas. |
| Segregation Codes | Enforces the separation between two incompatible cables, usually for reasons of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC). By default, two cables with different Segregation codes cannot share the same network segments anywhere in the cable route. To override the default rule, you can configure specific combinations of Segregation codes to be routed together and specify minimum separation distances between pairs of Segregation codes. See also Configuring Segregation Spacing. You can group Segregation codes together to form a Segregation group. If you enable multi-tier functionality, Multi-tier Groups can define the Segregation or Segregation Group for each tier. Segregation codes are assigned to cables (you can only assign one segregation code to one cable). Segregation codes, Group codes, or Multi-tier Group codes are assigned to network segments. See also Segments. You can assign one or more Segregation codes to segments. |
| Hot Codes | Excludes specific cable types from being routed in certain Area codes because of environmental reasons. Hot codes enable you to identify Area codes as "hot", and cable types as “resistant” and suitable to route in "hot" areas. You can assign Hot codes to one or more cable type. The criteria for "hot" is determined by the System Administrator, for example, high temperature or radiation hazard. Note When using alphanumeric sorting the lowest code represents the least harsh environment (coolest, least radioactive), and the highest code the most harsh (hottest, most radioactive). Area codes with no Hot code (default) have no restriction on any cable type. Hot codes become effective during cable routing, as follows: If a cable type has no Hot code, you can only route the cable through an Area code that also has no Hot code assigned. The cable will be excluded from any location that has a Hot code assigned. If a cable type has a Hot code assigned, you can route the cable through an Area code that has no Hot code assigned, or any location with a Hot code that is less than or equal to that of the cable type. |
| Status Codes | Used to manage the workflow of cable routing processes in Capital Cable Router. You can suppress statuses and specify alternative names to display. |

| DSNR (Design Scheduled Not Routed) | Default route status for new cables. |
| DPRFNRT (Design Part Routed From End, Not Routed To End) | Automatically set when routing is started at the “From End” of the cable. |
| DNRFPRT (Design Not Routed From End, Part Routed To End) | Automatically set when routing is started at the “To End” of the cable. |
| DPRFPRT (Design Part Routed From End, Part Routed To End) | Automatically set when routing is connected at both ends of a cable but there is a break in the middle. |
| DRM (Design Part Routed Middle) | Automatically set when routing is started but has not reached either “From End” or “To End”. |
| DRCNA (Design Route Complete, Route Not Approved) | Automatically set when cable is fully routed or cable is OFF ROUTE and off route lengths are defined but not yet approved. |
| DRCA (Design Route Complete, Route Approved) | Automatically set when the complete or OFF ROUTE cable has been approved. |
| DRCAR (Design Route Complete, Approved, Released) | Automatically set when the approved route or OFF ROUTE cable has been released. |
| PSP (Pull Sheet Printed) | Automatically set when a FOR USE version of the Pull Sheet, or other revision-controlled cable route report, is produced. See also Print Pull Sheet Form. |
