Routing Tab

To access: From the Project Defaults window, click the Routing tab.

Used by System Administrators to configure the project preferences related to the cable routing server.

Objects

Field	Description
Minimum/Maximum Off Route Length	Specify the minimum and maximum length for an off‑route cable (Meters). Note The minimum value must be in the range 0 to 999 and the maximum value must be 1 to 999. Optional.
Design Length Allowance[%]	Specify the percentage allowance tolerance to add to all design lengths. Default is 10. Note If modified, the design lengths of existing cables are unaffected.
Master Segregation	Unique identifier for the master Segregation code. Default is MASTER.
Auto Verify Route on Approval	Select to enable the route to be approved without the need to verify the route at both ends. The route verified flags are updated automatically to Yes on approval. Default is cleared. Note If selected and the cable is unapproved, the verified flags are reset to No automatically. Only select if manual setting of verification flags is never required.
Auto Route Release	Select to release the route automatically when it is approved. Default is cleared. Note Only select if manual release / unrelease of routes is never required.
Route Unrelease	Select to enable the route to be unreleased. Default is cleared. Note If selected, cables cannot be unreleased if they are visible to the installation.
Allow Approval of Reversed Routes	Clear to prevent routes being approved that have been reversed. Default is selected.
Allow Part Route Approval	Select to enable specific segments / groups of segments in a route to be approved. Default is cleared. If some of the segments but not all have been approved, you cannot approve the entire route until all the segments have been approved manually first. If none or all the segments have been approved, you can approve the route.
Part Route Approval by Area	Enabled only if Allow Part Route Approval is selected. Select to determine if only users authorized to approve specific areas can approve segments located in those areas. Default is cleared.
External Route Event Trigger	Select to use external software to raise the cable to Pull Sheet Printed (PSP) status without printing the standard Pull Sheet / Running Sheet. Default is cleared.
Auto PSP on Release	Select to automatically raise the cable to PSP status when released. Also saves the Pull Sheet information (as if the Pull Sheet had printed) so it can be printed if required. Default is cleared. Note Automatically setting cables to approved, requires the cable to go through the Change Control process to make further design changes.
Allow On-route Length	Clear to display read-only on-route lengths. Default is cleared. Note You cannot clear this option if “on-route lengths” are already defined for cables / devices.
Override Full Flag	Select to enable routing along segments calculated as full. A message is always displayed. Default is cleared.
Ignore Width Constraints Flag	Select to ignore width constraints when calculating the segment fill, for example, display optimistic values. Default is cleared.

Field	Description
Auto-Route by X,Y,Z	Select if nodes have X,Y,Z coordinates defined. Used when Automatic routing to determine the order of the route. Default is cleared.
Allow Autorouter Partial Routes	Batch Automatic Routing Select to enable partially routed cables to be selected for Automatic routing. Clear to enable complete routes only to be routed automatically between the specified From and To nodes. Command Line / Direct Autoroute If a full route request is made which involves required nodes or segments, some of the sub-routes will succeed and others might fail. Select to display the successful partial routes in the Accept / Reject dialog box. Recommended is selected.
Allow Routing Rules to be Disabled	Select to enable existing routing rules to be deactivated by authorized users. Recommended.
Autorouter Network Analysis	Select to force Automatic routing to use network analysis tables (if populated) to speed up processing.
Autorouter Fill Threshold	The Fill Threshold specifies a (volume) fill value above which a segment is unavailable for routing, including the cable itself in the calculation. Specify 0 (zero) if you do not want to use the auto‑blocking feature. Specify -1 to use the segment level Fill Threshold value. Default.
Autorouter Block Threshold	Enabled only if Allow Autorouter Auto-accept is selected. The Block Threshold specifies a fill value above which a segment Block flag is set automatically, including the cable itself in the calculation. Specify 0 (zero) to not calculate segment blocking. Recommended.
Autorouter Multi-route Threshold	Enabled only if Allow Autorouter Auto-accept is selected. Specify 0 (zero) to not use multiple route comparison. Default. Specify a positive percentage value to only accept routes with lengths that are longer than this percentage threshold. Used in conjunction with Auto-accept.
Allow Autorouter Auto-accept	Clear to force routes returned by Automatic routing to be either accepted or rejected. Select to automatically accept any successful route returned by Automatic routing. Recommended.
Default Autorouter Auto-accept Value	Enabled only if Allow Autorouter Auto-accept is selected. Select to determine if the route returned is automatically accepted or not. Default is cleared.

Field	Description
Use Conduit Schedule	Select to enable definition of Conduit and route cable in conduit. Default. Note You cannot clear this option if conduit records exist.
Default Conduit Fill Threshold	Default maximum fill percentage permitted in the conduit before a message displays that the fill has been exceeded. Note The threshold is applied to every conduit automatically, but can be modified for specific conduits, if required. Default is 40%.
Conduit Approval Required	Select to control whether conduit is available for use by cables immediately it has been scheduled and located on the Nodal Network or whether manual approval of the conduit is required first. Default is cleared.
Allow Conduit in Conduit	Select to enable a smaller conduit to be contained within a conduit. Default.
Auto-Set Conduit Conformance	Select to automatically set conformance flags for conduits. Default is cleared.
Cable Ends Mainly in Conduit	Select if most cables end in a conduit. Default is cleared.

Field	Description
Cable From/To Nodes	Cables must have From / To nodes specified. If no node is assigned, routing is permitted by Area. Select the options: Always Required (Default) Not Required Not Required, default to Area (Recommended) Note New cables will have From / To nodes specified automatically.
Auto-assign Compartment ORL when route by Area	Select to assign Compartment Off Route Length to cables when routing by Area. Default is cleared.
Enable Device-to-Device Routing	Select to activate Device Routing mode to identify start and end nodes automatically based on nodes within a specified distance from the device or using existing device near nodes. Recommended.
Max distance between device and nodes in Area	Specify maximum distance from devices to nodes in an area.
Allowance for device<>node Off Route Length(%)	Specify the percentage of the off-route length to add as an additional allowance. Default is 20%.
Default of Compartment ORL for Local ORL	Specify the percentage of Compartment Off Route Length to use as the default for setting the Local Cable Off Route Length. Default is 80.
Default Fixed Value for Local ORL	Specify the fixed length to use as the default for setting the Local Cable Off Route Length.
