Editing a Center Strip Splice

You can make various edits to a center strip splice, including moving it to a different splice on the design.

Procedure

  1. Press Space Bar and enter Wires, or press the W key. The Edit Wires Dialog Box is displayed.

  2. Select the center-stripped wire in the Wires list.

  3. Click the Additional Info tab; the center-strip options for the wire are indicated in the Center Strip Splices section.

Results

  • Route the wire through an additional splice (center-stripping it at that splice) by selecting the box to the left of the splice Name, and then specifying the Strip Length to remove.

  • Move the wire from one splice to another by first deselecting the existing splice position, and then selecting a new splice through which to route the wire.

  • Change the route of the wire through multiple center-strips by entering Order values; the wire passes through the splice with the lowest order first, and then the next lowest, and so on.

  • Modify the Strip Length to be removed from the wire at the splice.

  • Select the Length Change Type to be applied to the center-strip. Options available are Absolute, Offset or Neither. This dictates how any Distance Change is applied to the center-strip, which in turn affects the modified and unmodified lengths of the center-strip depending if Harness Engineering has been run.

  • Click OK, to confirm the changes and close the dialog box.
