Harness Level Mappings

Dialog Box

To access: Press Space Bar and enter Harness Level Mappings.

Used to link harness levels synchronized from a Capital Systems Integrator design with derivative harness designs created in Capital Harness Designer. Also enables the automatic creation of derivative harness designs based on the level configurations synchronized into the composite harness.

Objects

Field Description
Composite Design Displays the name and revision of the currently open design. Read-only.
Level Mapping This grid displays all mappings created to link synchronized harness levels to derivatives. Select a row, and then click either New or Edit to associate a derivative harness with the selected level. Level Displays the harness level from the source topological design, along with the part number attribute (in square brackets) assigned to that level in Capital Systems Integrator. Read-only. Derivative The derivative harness design mapped to the harness level displayed to the left. Read-only.
Enter Filter String () / Clear Filter String () In the field next to the Enter Filter String icon (), type a series of characters to display only harness levels with names containing those characters in the tree menu. The behavior of the filter varies depending on whether you use wildcards and the case (upper or lower) of the specified characters. See also “Browser Tab and Dialog Box Filters” in the Capital Design Tools - Common Functions User Guide. If you click Auto Mapping, only the blank values of the displayed harness levels are mapped. Click the Clear Filter String icon () to clear the filter and view all harness levels in the design. Optional.
Design Attribute Constraint See Design Attributes and Properties Constraints. See Usage Notes for a video demonstrating how to use the constraint when you are mapping child designs.
Auto Map Click to create a new derivative design for every Level in the Level Mapping grid. Each derivative is created using the following values: The derivative receives a Name constructed from the composite design name and the level name, separated by an underscore. The derivative receives the Part Number specified as an attribute of the harness level in Capital Systems Integrator. See also “Harness Levels” in the Capital Systems Integrator User Guide. The derivative receives the same revision as the composite design. Note This button does not display if the open project has a rule configured that uses a Design Attributes and Properties Constraint. In such cases, the functionality described here, is available by selecting Auto Map in the Design Attributes Constraints list. Optional.
New Click to open the New Derivative Harness Design \ New Derivative Group Dialog Box and configure the creation of a new derivative design to map to the selected level.
Edit Click to open the Derivative Selection Dialog Box and choose an existing, unmapped derivative to map to the selected level. Optional.
Remove Click to clear any mapped derivative harness from the selected level, deleting the mapping.
Apply Only enabled if: A row has as an empty cell in the Module Design column. No rows are selected, but there is at least one empty cell the Module Design column See Design Attributes and Properties Constraints.
Clear Clears any applied constraint change (including the Auto Map selection).

Usage Notes

  • If you create a new derivative design to map to the selected level, it is not deleted when the mapping is removed and will need to be deleted manually if no longer required.

This video demonstrates how to use the constraint when you are mapping child designs.
