General rules used by the system during harness synchronization.

• Component Matching When synchronizing into a design with an existing branch configuration, connectors, splices, wires and so on, are matched to nodes or placeholder components sharing the same name (this matching is case-insensitive). Where a match is found, the component definition is used to overwrite the placeholder component, or it is placed at the matching node. Where no matching node or placeholder is found, or no branch configuration exists, the component is placed at the bottom of the harness design, at a node named according to the component and disconnected from the rest of the harness.

• Additional Components Any mandatory sub-components in a component’s housing definition are added. Position information for additional components, when created in Capital Harness Designer, is preserved during re-synchronization.

• Harness Levels Level expressions from Capital Systems Integrator designs are synchronized mapped to harness derivatives, or derivatives created based on the level definition.

• Harness Object Positioning Any components or branches that have been moved in Capital Harness Designer retain their new positions regardless of subsequent synchronizations.

• Non-harness Objects Any objects without a harness equivalent (such as nets) are ignored.
