Harness Processing Extensibility

You can create extensibility plugins to provide alternative calculation algorithms or formulas and custom processing constraints, to augment the default Harness Engineering actions.

See the “Capital Design Tools Common Functions User Guide” to create and use extensibility plugins.

The system automatically uses the plugins when any harness engineering actions are run using either the harness processing wizard or when a harness processing job is set to run in the background (using FEM).

Note

The plugins are not run when using individual processing actions from the ribbon.

The plugins can be configured to add entries to the harness engineering Design Logs, to provide feedback regarding the success/failure of their actions.

You can create the following types of plugin:

Pre-Processing — These run before any of the harness processing calculations start. The pre-processing results can then be used in any subsequent harness processing calculations.
Post-Processing — These run after any of the harness processing calculations complete. The results of any harness processing calculations can be used by these plugins.
Takeover — These override and run in place of any of the applicable default harness processing calculations. The takeover results can be used in any subsequent Post-Processing calculations.
