Uncombining Multicores

You can uncombine (split) a combined multicore in Capital Systems Integrator.

Note

If you uncombine a signal that is part of a combined logical multicore, the system uncombines the whole logical multicore. Actions for uncombining wires are not available for wires that belong to a combined multicore.

Prerequisites

  • If you want to uncombine logical multicores, you must be in single user mode. You can uncombine physical multicores in multi user mode if you have their respective harnesses locked.

Procedure

  1. Expand the Multicores node in the Design Browser (Design tab) so that you can see the multicores.

  2. Pick from the following procedures. If you want to...

Do the following:

Uncombine a logical multicore.

Right-click the combined logical multicore, and choose Uncombine. The system uncombines all the signals in all the contained logical multicores. In doing this, it uncombines all combined physical multicores in these signals. The Design Browser updates accordingly. See Multicores in the Design Browser.

Uncombine a single logical multicore from a combined multicore.

Right-click the logical multicore you want to uncombine, and choose Uncombine. The system uncombines the signals related to the selected logical multicore and also uncombines any combined wiring or physical multicores related to the signals of the logical multicore. If this leaves the combined multicore with a single child logical multicore, the system removes the entire combined multicore and uncombines all of its wiring. The Design Browser updates accordingly.

Uncombine a physical multicore.

Right-click the physical multicore, and choose Uncombine. The system uncombines the wires in the selected multicore. The Design Browser updates accordingly.

Note When there are two logical multicores in a combined logical multicore, uncombining either of these removes the parent combined logical multicore from the Design Browser. In other words, a combined logical multicore cannot contain just one logical multicore. Changes made to multicores in Capital Logic Designer can lead to the uncombining of already combined multicores in Capital Systems Integrator during synchronization if particular multicores are no longer combinable.
