Marker Constraints Overview

You can configure these constraints to automatically add wire and multicore markers with text that is dynamically generated based on the design data.

The constraints are available in the Constraint Selection Dialog Box.

Constraints

After setting marker constraints in the Edit Design Properties Dialog Box, the constraints are active when the dialog box is closed.
To generate the latest design information, constraints are applied each time the markers are queried; for example, when applying style, editing wires or multicores, bridging, breakdown, or SBOM generation.
Marker constraints are copied with the design and applied across each new revision.
It is recommended to add constraints on the composite design level to avoid setting constraints on every child design. Marker text entries in child designs are created as manually defined (Overridden is selected), as constraints are unavailable after composite breakdown.

If design information is changed, any marker text derived from such information is automatically updated when the markers are queried.
You can override marker text entries in the Edit Wires Dialog Box and Edit Multicore Dialog Box,

to manually change the marker values. Manually entered marker text cannot be overwritten by constraints.

You can remove manually assigned marker text individually or in batches using the Auto Delete Components constraint.

When bridging-out applicable formats, you can choose to include or exclude markers generated by constraints.
Constraints and rule sets that are defined in the design are preserved with the design after bridging.
The bridge-in process creates marker text entries as manually defined (Overridden is selected); however, you can choose to remove or add new constraints after the import is complete.
