Equal Similar or Different

As you select and add bundles and their associated objects from member designs to the merged design, the process automatically merges your selected objects, or prompts you to take action based on whether it considers the selection to be equal, similar, or different to their respective objects on the merged design.

• Equal The selected bundles (including all attached components, such as clips, grommets, splices, and insulations) are exactly the same on the member and merged designs. Such equal objects are automatically merged by the process.

• Similar The selected objects from the member design are very similar to, but not equal with the objects on the merged design, and the process can not automatically merge them. The system displays the issues through a series of popup message boxes to enable you to take manual action. You can choose to Place or Duplicate the objects. For similar objects a user decision is required: Place — Select to place a new instance of the selected bundle. This option displays if the bundle can be placed instead of merged. For example, if only one end node of the bundle is merged / mapped, not both ends.

Force Merge — Select to force a merge (just one object to represent all merged objects).

Duplicate — Select to display two or more graphical representations of the object.

• Different Objects are different and cannot be merged. It is not possible that one will represent the other. You must either Duplicate the object or Cancel the merge action.
