Machine Name Deletion Policies
Specifies the machine name of the device used when logging in a user account to a Capital application. The property machine name is referenced or stored in multiple use case scenarios, each use case is defined below along with the associated deletion policy.
| Use Case Referencing Machine Name | Purpose | Deletion Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Log files | Troubleshooting | Information stored in external documents like log files is cleaned up automatically at regular intervals using the log file retention task, based on a configured schedule. The default cleanup is set up to retain the last two log files only. See Managing Log Files in the Capital Design Tools - Common Functions User Guide. |
| Error Reporting (Call Home) | Troubleshooting | This is optional user functionality. You can configure call home packages to remove any sensitive data before sending to Siemens Customer Support. See System Preferences for Error Reporting and Recovery (Call Home) the Capital Project Manager User Guide. |
| Server Manager | Tracking of the usage of Capital Manager and applications | Server manager information is not stored in the database, it is sent from the Capital Manager to the Server Manager periodically based on the clients connected to it and continues refreshing dynamically. |
Additional machine name information:
