Harness Designs > Harness Level Mappings
Automatically Creating Derivative Designs from Synchronized Harness
Levels
You can generate derivative harness designs using the options present on any harness levels synchronized from a Capital Systems Integrator design.
Prerequisites
You must have successfully synchronized a Capital Systems Integrator design with one or more composite harness designs. See also Synchronizing from a Capital Systems Integrator Design.
All levels for which you want to create a derivative design must have a Part Number attribute specified in Capital Systems Integrator. See also “Harness Levels” in the Capital Systems Integrator User Guide.
Procedure
Open the composite harness design for which you want to create derivatives.
Press Space Bar and enter Harness Level Mappings. The Harness Level Mappings Dialog Box is displayed.
In the Level Mapping grid, choose the Level(s) for which you want to create a derivative.Note If you have configured the current project with rules containing Design Attributes and Properties Constraints, you can use these to automatically assign derivative design names and other attributes.
For such configured projects, select the required rule from the Design Attribute Constraint dropdown list and click Apply. The system displays a set of proposed design names (created according to the configured constraints) in the table.
For non-configured projects, Click Auto Mapping. The Auto Mapping process displays a set of proposed design names in the table.
- Review the proposed names and click OK.Note You can clear a mapping by selecting the level and clicking the Remove button.
Results
For each selected level, a new derivative design is created and added to the Derivatives folder of the parent composite harness in the Project browser.
The new derivatives are also automatically mapped to the Level for which they were created, as displayed in the Derivative field.
Once mapped, option data configured against the harness level is applied to the derivative to ensure that the level’s component contents are accurately reflected in the derivative design.
