Starting 3D Electrical Design in Designcenter NX

When using 3D Electrical Design with Designcenter NX, you must start 3D Electrical Design in the Designcenter environment before you can access its functionality.

Prerequisites

• You have completed the steps in Configuring Customer Defaults for 3D Electrical Design in Designcenter NX.

• You have modified the \adaptors\adaptors.xml file to enable either NX Harness Adaptor or NX Extended Harness Adaptor.

• The part that you want to use with the 3D electrical context must be open in Designcenter NX.

Procedure

1. In Designcenter, click the Application tab at the top of the interface.

2. In the ribbon bar, click the More dropdown and select Electrical System under the Route heading.

3. In the ribbon bar, click the Toolbox dropdown and select Capital under the Electrical heading.

Results

• A new Capital tab is automatically opened on the ribbon bar.

• A button to open the Capital navigator is added to the resource bar.

• 3D Electrical Design is now ready for use.
