Module Code Mapping Dialog

To access: Press Space Bar and enter Map Functional / Production Codes To Designs.

Used to map modules and automatically generate module designs based on the Functional or Production Module Codes relationships.

Objects

Field Description
Composite Design Displays the name and revision of the currently open design. Read-only.
Module Mapping This grid lists either the functional or production module codes that can be (auto) mapped to existing module designs. To map a module, select a Module Design from the dropdown list adjacent to the relevant Composite Module Code. Once all modules have been mapped, click OK to confirm and close the dialog box.
Enter Filter String () / Clear Filter String () In the field next to the Enter Filter String icon (), type a series of characters to display only module codes with names containing those characters in the tree menu. The behavior of the filter varies depending on whether you use wildcards and the case (upper or lower) of the specified characters. See also “Browser Tab and Dialog Box Filters” in the Capital Design Tools - Common Functions User Guide. Click the Clear Filter String icon () to clear the filter and view all module codes in the design. Optional.
Design Attribute Constraint See Design Attributes and Properties Constraints. See Usage Notes for a video demonstrating how to use the constraint when you are mapping child designs.
Revise Displays the Revise Harness Design dialog box. This specifies the version of the design, enabling multiple updated versions of the same design (and therefore the same Part Number) to exist in the database. When creating a new design, enter the initial version number or letter. Subsequent revisions receive a new revision number as part of their creation. See “Creating a Design Revision” in the Capital Project Manager User Guide create a new revision.
New Displays the Functional or Production New Harness Design Dialog Box, with the Name and Part Number populated with the values from the first un-mapped module found in the working (external) harness data, and with the revision defaulted to 1. Once you confirm the creation of the new module design, you are returned to the Module Mapping dialog box, where the new module is now mapped to the incoming module from which it was created.
Edit Displays the Edit Harness Design Dialog Box to edit the selected Capital module details. Once you have finished making changes, click OK. All the module designs (new and modified, due to mapping changes) are created and synchronized as required. Optional.
Auto Map Instructs the system to attempt to map all the blank values in the right-hand side column. The first pass is made using the unlinked existing part numbers or module name. If no match is found, a new Capital module design is created and mapped to the unmapped incoming module design. If there is a conflict in the design name, for example, the same part number or revision already exists in the database, the name is shown in red. To manually resolve any conflicts, select the design name and click Edit, to open the New Functional Module Harness Design Dialog Box, and then change the value in the Part Number or Revision fields. The OK button is dimmed until you change the values. Once the conflict is resolved, click the enabled OK button to proceed. Note This button does not display if the open project has a rule configured that uses a Design Attributes and Properties Constraint. In such cases, the functionality described here, is available by selecting Auto Map in the Design Attributes Constraints list. Optional.
Apply Only enabled if: A row has as an empty cell in the Module Design column. No rows are selected, but there is at least one empty cell the Module Design column See Design Attributes and Properties Constraints.
Clear Clears any applied. constraint change (including the Auto Map selection).
