Project Defaults

Window (Common Preferences)

To access: Double-click Development projects, select the required project, and then double‑click Library Data > Project Setup > Project Configuration. Alternatively, double‑click General administration > Project setup > Project Defaults to configure the system‑level defaults.

Used by System Administrators to configure the common project preferences.

Caution

Modifying the project preferences, particularly when the project is in production, can have wide ranging impact to the cable routing and design data in the Marine Electrical flow.

Objects

Field Description
Project Name Displays the unique project ID specified in the Project Setup wizard.
Multiple Build Select to specify a multiple build project or clear for a single build project. Multiple build projects cannot be reverted to single build projects. Single build projects can only be increased to multiple build projects if no design data has been entered. You can Add and Remove vessels on the Build Details tab. Optional.
No. of Builds For multiple build projects, a value from 2 to 20 for the number of vessels to be built is displayed. Read-only. The system identifies a source vessel to base additional vessel design data to enable you to increase or decrease the number of vessels at any time using the Add Vessels and Remove Vessels actions on the Build Details tab. Optional.
Units of Measure Select Metric (default meters) to specify the units of measure for Equipment and Cable types (which represent “global data”). Used to determine the boilerplate units of measure displayed on windows and reports. Restriction You must select Metric to avoid conflict with the metric design data values exported from NX and Teamcenter. See also Configuring Units of Measure for Off-Route Values to scale the metric units displayed for off‑route lengths. Mandatory.
TLS Project Type Identifies the status of the Through Life Support (TLS) project. Working A project actively subject to change in the Design or Production phases. Recommended. Published Production-only project where the design data is imported externally from Change Documents. Construction Identifies if one or more vessels in a project are in progress. Read‑only. Reference Projects used as a historical reference only. Read‑only. Ensure that the PLU_DIR folder is specified in the Publish File Location field on the TLS tab. Recommended.
All vessels in-service Select Yes or No to identify if all vessels in the TLS Project Type are in-service. Recommended is Yes. Used to control the availability of fields on the Through Life Support tab.
