Auto Create Component

on Bundle with Offset

Configure this constraint to automatically create specified components on bundles using configured offset positions.

Usage

Copy

Create Clip with part number/code Part Number/Code on All bundles matching <any> and length between 0.0 and 0.0, from Junction matching <any> with offset num

Arguments

Click the colored arguments to configure the constraint. Red hyperlink arguments are mandatory, and green arguments are optional.

See “Auto Create Component Constraints Overview” for argument configuration information common to all Auto Create Constraints.

Arguments Description
CopyClip Use to specify the component type you want to create. Default entry is Clip. Click to display a list of available components. Choose from Clip, Device, Grommet, Other Component, Splice, or Spot Tape.
CopyPart Number/Code Use to configure various ways to specify the part number for the component you want to auto create. You can scope this argument to any of the entries; Clip, Connector, Device, Grommet, Node, Other Component, Splice. Note If the component type is Spot Tape, a popup menu displays to choose from all valid Object Type Information spot tape insulation codes. Click the argument to display a popup menu: Edit or New — Opens the Text Expression Dialog Box, to create or edit a query expression to drive the selection of the part number. In the Text Expression dialog box, click the Advanced Editor button (), to open the Edit Query Expressions Dialog Box and create or edit advanced queries. Queries are scoped to the selected from argument entry (Clip, Connector, Device, Grommet, Node, Other Component, Splice). Part Selection — Opens the Part Selection Dialog Box, to set a specific part number to use. If the component type is Other Component, you can select any group components from the Value dropdown list. A predefined query from the list. See “Query Expression Context” to filter items in the list.
CopyAll Click to display a list of bundle types to be considered by the auto create process. All — All bundles are considered. Default. Connector — Bundle connecting a connector. Internal — Bundle defined between two junction nodes.
Copy<any> Use to specify a query expression condition to drive the selection of the associated matching object. Click the text to open a popup menu: Edit or New — Opens the Condition Dialog Box, to create or edit a query expression. In the Condition dialog box, click the Advanced Editor button (), to open the Edit Query Expressions dialog box and create or edit advanced queries. See also “Query Expressions”. {any} — Click to apply to all matching objects. Select a predefined query from the list. See “Query Expression Context” to filter items in the list.
Copy0.0 num Use in a range to specify lengths to drive the selection of the bundle or insulation runs, and to specify position interval / offset values for component placement: Length — Minimum / maximum values for bundles or insulation runs. If values are 0.0, the process considers all. Offset — From junctions or ends. Interval —Spacing along the bundle or insulation.
Copyfrom Junction Use in conjunction with offset values to configure the position of the auto created component. Click and select Clip, Connector, Device, Grommet, Other Component, or Splice.

Examples

Example

1

This constraint places a label with part number “MARKER-U” on all bundles that have a diameter less than 5 mm. The label is placed offset 50 mm to connectors.

Example

2

These two constraints examples place spot tape either side of all clips with part number CL-TH-01.

The spot tape is placed 10 mm from each side of the clip, as configured by the positive and negative offsets of 10.0 and -10.0.
