Edit Harness Details

	Dialog Box

To access: Click the Modify Harness Details button in either the New Harness Design Dialog Box or the New Derivative Harness Design \ New Derivative Group Dialog Box, as well as in the Edit versions of those dialog boxes.

The dialog box contains three tabs which you can use to add Internal and specific manufacturing information to a harness design, as well as extra relevant information you can define yourself as required.

Objects

Field	Description
Internal Tab
Internal Harness No	Displays the Part Number entered for the design. Read-only.
Internal Issue	Displays the Revision entered for the design. Read-only.
Manufacturing Site	Select the location at which the harness is to be constructed, from the dropdown list. Manufacturing sites are maintained in Capital Component Manager. See “Manufacturing Sites” in the Capital Component Manager User Guide. Optional.
Internal Date	The creation date of this harness design. This field defaults to today’s date, but you can overwrite this with another date if required. The date must be entered in an appropriate date format; the text is displayed in red if the format is incorrect. Mandatory.
Select Datum	Specifies the default point within a connector to which terminating wires should have their lengths measured. Mandatory. Back Wire lengths are measured to the point at which they enter the connector cavity. Front Wire lengths are measured to the front face of the connector in which they terminate. Tip. Term Wire lengths are measured to the tip of the terminal selected for them during Cavity Component Management.
Take Rate %	Enter a Take Rate for the design in the form of a percentage between 0.00 and 99999.99. The take rate on a derivative design is the percentage of the volume sales of the composite, that this derivative represents. Used as a guide for the purpose of prioritizing wires for sub-assembly design and allocation to workstations.
Customer Tab
Customer Harness No	This field defaults to the Part Number entered for the design, but it can be overwritten with a customer-specific part number. Optional.
Customer Issue	This field defaults to the Revision entered for the design, but it can be overwritten with a customer-specific revision number. Optional.
Customer Name	Select the name for whom the harness is being designed, from the dropdown list. Customers are maintained in Capital Component Manager. See “Customers” in the Capital Component Manager User Guide. Optional.
Customer Date	The creation date of this harness design, as is visible to the customer. This field defaults to today’s date, but you can overwrite this with another date if required. The date must be entered in an appropriate date format; the text is displayed in red if the format is incorrect. Mandatory.
Extra Details Tab
User Field (1-5)	Used to add extra relevant information pertaining to the design. Optional.
Tube Select Add-On	Only available to tube insulations, this option specifies whether the Tube Factor value is applied as a Fixed amount, or as a Percentage of the calculated bundle diameter. Select the appropriate option from the dropdown list. Optional.
Tube Factor	Only available to tube insulations, this option specifies a value to be added to the calculated bundle diameter to ensure that the tube fits the bundle. This value is applied as either a Fixed amount or a Percentage of the bundle diameter, as specified in the Tube Select Add-On field. Optional. For example: With a value of 5 entered and the Tube Selection option set to Fixed, the minimum internal tube diameter that will be permitted for a bundle with a diameter of 20 is 25. With a value of 5 entered and the Tube Selection option set to Percentage, the minimum internal tube diameter that will be permitted for a bundle with a diameter of 20 is 21. This calculated internal diameter is then used when selecting an appropriate tube during engineering calculations, or when Harness Checks are run to verify that fixed tubes applied to bundles will fit.
Manual Terminal	Select the check box to manually fit harness wires with terminals. Optional.
