Adding a Multi-location

Node Component

You can add a multi-location component to two or more nodes.

Procedure

Press Space Bar and enter Multi-Location Node. The cursor changes to .
Select the first node at which the component will be placed:If you click a node, the component is placed, anchored at that node.

If you hover the cursor over a bundle, a tooltip displays the distance between the cursor position and the adjacent node in the direction of the start of the bundle. Click to place the multi-location node component; the Node Position Utility Dialog Box is displayed to fine-tune the position of the reference node created to anchor the component to the bundle. You can also enable variant positioning, and anchor the multi-location node component at any reference node on the same bundle. See also “Variant Position Reference Nodes” on the Node Position Utility dialog box.

Select the second node, and any subsequent nodes, in the same way.
Double-click to confirm the node selections. The Add Multi-Location Node Component Dialog Box is displayed, with the selected nodes listed in the Locations grid.
Click the ellipsis (...) button to the right of the Library Part field. The Part Selection Dialog Box is displayed to search for and insert a component from the library. The associated component will be displayed in the Library Part field.
Click OK.

Results

The multi-location node component is placed onto the design. The following component entities are displayed: The component part number

Any Name assigned to the component

Any symbol associated with the component

A Node table Note The multi-location node component entities listed comprise the default offering as dictated by the style set shipped with Capital Harness Designer. Both the entities displayed, and the appearance of those entities, can be modified. See also the Capital Diagram Styling User Guide.

The multi-location node component is added to the Harness Design Browser.
