Converting an Arc to a
Waypoint
You can remove an arc from a bundle, join the entry and exit bundle segments with a waypoint and maintain the orientation of those segments relative to each other.
Tip
See Bundle Manipulation Overview to use the Manipulation Handles to edit bundle positions and shapes.
Procedure
Select the arc to be converted and either:
Right-click and select Arc > Convert arc to waypoint.
Press Space Bar and enter Bundle Palette; the Bundle Palette Dialog Box is displayed. Click Convert Arc to Waypoint ().
Results
- The arc is converted to a straight segment of equal length, which is oriented as follows: In a full scale diagram, the flattened section is oriented in the same direction as the adjacent segment that is closest to the datum node. The new waypoint is inserted at the junction between the flattened arc segment and the segment furthest from the datum node.
In a not-to-scale diagram, the flattened segment is oriented in the same direction as the longest of the two adjacent segments. The new waypoint is inserted at the junction between the flattened arc segment and the shortest adjacent segment.
In both cases, the total bundle length remains unchanged.
