Extending a Selection

When you select certain objects in the Harness Design browser or Diagram window, you can extend the selection to include all wires and multicores connected to the object.

  • You can use this function on the following objects: Connectors

Splices

Devices

Backshells

Ring Terminals

  • You can select multiple objects and extend the selection to all wires and multicores connected to those objects.

Restrictions and Limitations

Only complete multicores are included in any extended selection. If a selected object contains only a subset of a multicore’s inner wires, the object (and its inner wires) is not included in the selection.

Prerequisites

  • The selected object has connected wires.

Procedure

Select one or more objects in the Harness Design browser or Diagram window and either:

  • Right-click an object and select Extend Selection.

  • Use the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+S.

  • Press Space Bar and enter Extend Selection. Note The options are not available if there are no wires connected to the selected object.

Results

  • The current set of selected objects is extended to include wires and multicores that are connected at the originally selected objects.

  • All objects included in the extended selection are highlighted in the design browser tree.

  • The path of the connected wires and multicores is highlighted on the diagram.
