Setting the Path of an
Insulation Run
You can set the path an insulation run will take from start node to end node, where multiple possible paths exist in the branch configuration, by specifying through nodes and not through nodes.
Note
By default, an insulation takes the shortest route between the start and end nodes. It is forced to pass through any nodes flagged as through nodes in the order in which they were flagged; it will be prevented from passing through any nodes flagged as not through nodes.
Procedure
- Right-click either:A layer of the insulation run on the diagram
The insulation run, or one of its layers, in the Harness Design Browser
and select Set Path. The cursor changes to . Note By default, the set path tool sets a node to be a through node; to toggle the setting of through/not through nodes, right-click and select Through nodes or Not Through nodes as appropriate.
Position the cursor on a structure node of a possible alternative path and it changes to . Click once on the node to set it as a through node (a green circle surrounds the node) or a not through node (a red circle is displayed). Click again to clear the selection. The path of the insulation run—shown in red—updates with every node flagged to show the new path it will take.
Repeat step 2 until all nodes have been flagged as required, and then right-click and select Commit.
