Capital Harness Designer Modular > Module Code Assignation
Defining Module Assignation
Constraints
You can define constraints regarding module assignation rules. These may be set at both Project Level and directly on the Harness Design. Use to automatically assign module codes for all design objects using a plugin, or to assign module or technical module codes for selected objects.
Note
If you add constraints to a design, the module code assignation dialog boxes will not be displayed as your constraints will control assignation.
Procedure
Press Space Bar and enter Rules. The Define Rules dialog box is displayed.
Create a new rule or edit an existing rule and add the required constraints. Three possible constraints exist for Module Assignation:Assign Module Codes for All Design Objects via Plugin This constraint enables the user to control completely how assignation should be performed on the selected objects, or in the case where no objects are selected, the entire design. There are no parameters available for this constraint type; however, the user should specify any required plugin constraint to be performed.
Assign Module Codes for Selected Objects This constraint enables you to influence how, or if, individual objects should be analyzed to determine the required module codes. Supply the object, Module Space, and method values. If required, a plugin constraint can also be specified for this constraint. Available values for objects are: All
Breakout Tape
Clip
Connector
Device
Grommet
Insulation Layer
Insulation Run
Multi-Crimp
Multi-Location Component
Other Component
Overbraid
Splice
Spot Tape
Available values for Module Space are: Functional
Production
Available values for Method are: Standard Only
Standard (with Mandatory, then Factor)
Mandatory Modules Only
Mandatory Module(s), then Factor
Assign Technical Module Codes for Selected Objects This constraint enables you to determine how, or if, technical modules should be created for specific object types. Supply the Module Space and object values. A plugin constraint can also be specified for this constraint. Note When performing assignation using the Assign Module Codes dialog box and when the Technical Module check box is enabled, technical module assignation will be performed using the preferences defined in the project.

- Click OK, to confirm the action and close the dialog box.
