High-Level Flow for Function Design in Capital Systems Modeler

The following steps describe a high-level flow for function design.

Procedure

  1. Open the project. Enter the name if new, select from list if existing.See Opening a Project or Creating a Project.

  2. Creating and opening a design. Enter the name if new, select from the list if existing.If creating a new design, see Creating a New Capital Systems Modeler Design.

  3. Creating and opening a diagram. Enter the name if new, select from list if existing.See Creating a New Diagram.

  4. Create functions and adding them to diagrams. See Creating a Function in a Diagram.

  5. Create ports and adding them to diagrams. See Adding Ports to an Object Instance.

  6. Create hierarchical blocks and adding them to diagrams. See Adding a Block.

  7. Add functional signals and messages to your diagrams.Create and manage signals and associate them to objects on your diagrams. See Creating/Moving/Deleting a Signal.For information about adding functional signals, see Creating/Moving/Deleting a Signal. For information about adding functional messages, see Messages.

  8. Run design rule checks. See Running Design Rule Checks.

  9. Make edits where required to fix errors and warnings identified by the checks.

  10. Save the diagram.

  11. Close the diagram and project.
