Automatic Part Number
Selection Rules
When the fixture constraint “part number=”
parameter is set to
Note
If a matching part number is not found, the fixture is created without a part number assigned. A default shaft diameter is applied, based on the unit of measure setting for the diagram of 5 mm for metric, or 0.25 inch for imperial.
Segment Fixture Constraint Rules
The process considers each bundle segment (for fixtures placed at a bundle elbow there are two segments) in turn, and alphanumerically checks the part definitions of all fixtures, as specified on the Fixture Details Tab in Capital Component Manager (see Figure 321), until a match is found based on the following criteria.
A part number is selected where all of the following conditions are true:
The Bundles Supported value = 1.
The fixture is Auto Selectable.
For fixtures placed at bundle elbows, the Shaft Diameter fits within the angle of the bundle segments.
The number of wires in each bundle is within the min/max wire count range.
The width of the bundle is within the min/max bundle width range.
Junction Node Fixture Constraint Rules
For the “Fixture Placement Bundle Junction” constraint, a part number is selected where all of the following conditions are true:
The Bundles Supported value = 1.
The fixture is Auto Selectable.
The number of wires in each bundle is within the min/max wire count range.
The width of the bundle is within the min/max bundle width range? Note For both Segment Fixture Constraint Rules and Junction Node Fixture Constraint Rules, you can set the max wire count or bundle width value to zero in Capital Component Manager to indicate an "open-range" for selection. For example, if the max wire count is set to zero, the range for the fixture allows any number of wires.
Structure Node Fixture Constraint Rules
The “Place Fixture on Structure Node” constraint does not allow Auto Select. This is to prevent overriding any manually specified part number that may have been set by the Fixture Placement Component Constraint. You must specify a part number manually using the part selection dialog box.
