Edit Harness Diagram
Dialog Box
To access: Right-click the diagram name in the Project browser and select Edit.
Used to edit and configure a harness design diagram.
Caution
If you access this dialog box from Capital E/E Publisher, certain fields are unavailable.
Designs modified in Capital E/E Publisher must not be used for continued design work in Capital Harness Designer or Capital Harness Designer Modular as modifications made for publication might have altered the design intent of the source design. You must wait until all design changes have been made to the source design before modifying designs in Capital E/E Publisher.

| Field | Description |

| Name | A label to identify the harness diagram, which defaults to Diagram1. Enter a new name, or click the ellipsis (...) button to the right of the field to select from a list of pre-specified harness diagram names maintained in the project’s Object Type Information in Capital Project Manager. Mandatory. |
| Style Set | Select the style set to associate with this diagram from the dropdown list. If no additional style sets have been created, only Default is available. Mandatory. See “Style Sets” in the Capital Diagram Styling User Guide to create and maintain style sets. |
| Full Scale | Use the following options to create a diagram in which bundle representations are displayed at 100% of the size at which they will appear when printed out. Length If selected, the diagram is locked to 100% scale. For example, the diagram’s physical scale is locked to the grid spacing and cannot be changed; bundle lengths are displayed at the same scale as they will appear when printed out, unless they are manually overridden. Optional. Modify First Segment Only available if the Length option is selected. Select to apply length changes made to bundles, to the bundle segment nearest to the datum node. By default, changes in length are applied to the bundle segment furthest from the datum node. Optional. Width Only available if the Length option is selected. This option enables the display of bundle widths at full scale, accurately representing the true width of the bundle. Optional. |
| Bundle Length Change Panel | This panel displays on full scale diagrams only. For child diagrams, if the Protect Diagram Edits check box is cleared, this panel is unavailable. |
| Update Full Scale Length | Displays on full scale diagrams only. With this option selected, when a bundle length change has been made, the diagram's graphical length will be modified to the new value. Where possible, bundle segment and arc modifications will be preserved. When grip points or arcs cannot be preserved, they will be removed. This behavior is consistent with normal, interactive editing of full scale bundle lengths. |
| Retain Structure Node Positions and Make Bundle Flexible | Displays on full scale diagrams only. With this option selected, when a bundle length change has been made, the diagram's graphical length will remain unchanged from its previous length. The structure node positions will remain the same and the graphical bundle will be converted to a flex bundle to enable the user to manually manipulate the bundle to accommodate the length change. See “Converting a Full Scale Bundle to a Flex Bundle”. |
| Protect Diagram Edits | Displays on derivative and module diagrams only. Select this to preserve any layout changes you make to the diagram. See “Preserving Changes Made to Derivative and Module Diagrams”. Does not display if diagram is open. On a child module diagram, this check box is unavailable until Modular Breakdown has been run. Optional. |

Usage Notes
The option to create full scale diagrams is a licensed operation. If you do not have the required license, these options are unavailable. Note Once a diagram has been created as full scale, you cannot edit the Length and Width settings, or edit a non‑full scale diagram to enable these options.
full scale bundle widths are not displayed until engineering calculations have been run.
If you intend to bridge in external data containing clocking information, the Modify First Segment option must be selected to ensure the preservation of backshell dogleg lengths when making changes to bundle lengths. See also “Clocking” in the Bridging Data In and Out of Capital User Guide.
