Adding a New Branch to

a Highway

You can add (create) a new branch to an existing highway on a diagram.

Procedure

  1. Press the space bar and enter Highway.

  2. Hover over the existing highway point to place the first end of the new branch.

  3. Click and drag to define highway segments.Tip You can drag the line, click once, and then drag the line in a new direction to define segments on a highway.

  4. Hover over the grid point to place the other end of the highway branch, and then double‑click.Note If you place it on an existing highway, a connection is made automatically and all connected segments become part of the other highway.

Results

  • If the highway is not attached to an existing highway, a new highway is added to the Design Browser.

  • If the new branch connects the highway to another highway, all connected segments become part of the other highway.
