Using Impacted Child Design

Management

You can view “interactively” which child designs are impacted as you modify objects in a composite design, or select objects to locate the child designs that contain them.

If a modification exists in a revision of a composite design, you can also “compare” two design revisions to identify the differences and any impacted child designs.

Use the following actions on the Workflow ribbon to manage the impact to child designs and create revisions where modifications are identified:

• Change Impact - Interactive — Displays design modifications on an open composite design, locates child designs containing selected components, and dynamically lists any impacted child designs.

• Change Impact - Design Compare — Compares two revisions of a composite design and displays any design differences and lists the impacted child designs.
