Set Harness Design Attribute/Property

Use this constraint to automatically bulk update child design attribute and property values.

Set Name to Text for All Designs matching <any>

Arguments

Click the colored arguments to configure the constraint. Red hyperlink arguments are mandatory, and green arguments are optional.

Argument	Description
Copy`Name`	Specify the child design attribute or property to update. Click to open a popup menu and select from a list of child design attributes or OTI (Object Type Information) properties.
Copy`Text`	Define a text expression to populate the value of the selected attribute or property. The text expression can be a concatenation of several elements for example attribute, property, value or text expression (query result). Click the text to open a popup menu: Click Edit or New to open the Text Expression Dialog Box to create a new text expression or edit an existing one. You can use a counter to increment value constructions. The counter is only valid with this constraint. See Description section below. In the Text Expression Dialog Box, click the Advance Editor button (), to open the Edit Query Expressions dialog box and create or edit advanced queries. See also “Query Expressions”. Select a predefined query from the list. See “Query Expression Context” to filter items in the list.
Copy`All Designs`	Specify the type of design the constraint applies to. Click to choose from: All Designs Derivative Designs Functional Module Designs Production Module Designs
Copy`<any>`	Use to specify a query expression condition to drive the selection of the associated design. Click the text to open a popup menu: Click Edit or New to open the Condition Dialog Box to create a new query expression or edit an existing one. In the Condition dialog box, click the Advance Editor button (), to open the Edit Query Expressions dialog box and create or edit advanced queries. See also “Query Expressions”. Click {any} to apply to all matching designs. Select a predefined query from the list. See “Query Expression Context” to filter items in the list.

Text

Expression Counter

You can use this counter to return an incremental sequence in the output value.

Copy

${counter:length=X:start=Y:increment=Z}

length — The number of digits the counter will use. For example, if length=2, the returned values will be 00 01 02 03 04. If length=4, the returned values will be 0000 0001 0002 0003 0004.
start — The starting value of the counter.
increment — The incremental value the counter will use between two values. For example if length=2 start=10 increment=10 the returned value will be 10 20 30 40

The example below will return PM01, PM02, PM03 and so on.

Attribute

Backup

There is a system preference “Create backup property when design attributes are changed”. If the preference is enabled, whenever you run this constraint on an existing design (not applicable when you are using the constraint with copy, revise or mapping functionality), the process starts by creating a backup of the current values of the Name, Part Number, and Revision attributes as read-only properties against each child design.
