Combine
Wires at Cavity Dialog Box
To access: In the Design Browser (Design tab), right-click a cavity and choose Combine Wires at Cavity. Multiple conductors (wires or shields) from different signals must connect to the cavity. If all of the conductors are from the same signal, only the “Add Splice at Cavity” action is available.
Use this dialog box to combine signals and wires in one step and, if required, to insert a splice at a cavity for wires from different signals
Objects
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Signal Name | Specify the name of the combined signal created by this action. |
| Wire browser window | Select the wires that you want to combine. |
| Insert splice at cavity | If you insert a splice, the wires meet at the splice and a single combined wire goes from the splice to the cavity. For example, you might want to do this if you have three shields connecting to one cavity. If you do not insert the splice, the system replaces the wires with one wire. You might want to do this where you can combine the wires on one side of an inline connector but they need to be separate wires on the other side. |
| Combine Selected | Combines the wires (and their signals) that are selected and closes the dialog box. |
