Adding
a Ring Terminal with an Associated Library Part
You can place a ring terminal onto a harness design by associating it from the library.
Procedure
Press Space Bar and enter Ring Terminal or press Ctrl+Shift+T. The cursor changes to .
Click to place the ring terminal:If you click a node, the ring terminal is placed, anchored at that node.
If you click an empty area of the design, a new structure node is created at which the ring terminal is anchored.
The Add Ring Terminal Dialog Box is displayed. Note If you press Ctrl when you click to place the component, the Add Ring Terminal dialog box does not display.
Click the ellipsis (...) button to the right of the Library Part field. The Part Selection Dialog Box is displayed to search for and insert a ring terminal from the library. The associated ring terminal part number will be displayed in the Library Part field.
Click OK.
Results
The ring terminal is added to the Harness Design Browser under its own Ring Terminals folder.
The ring terminal is placed onto the design. By default, styling will display the following ring terminal entities: The component part number
Any Name assigned to the ring terminal
A connector cavity table
Any symbol associated with the ring terminal Note The ring terminal entities listed comprise the default offering as dictated by the default style set shipped with Capital Harness Designer. Both the entities displayed, and the appearance of those entities, can be modified. See also the Capital Diagram Styling User Guide.
