Bending Segments

You can bend a segment on a bundle.

Restrictions and Limitations

By default, these actions bend bundles in degree increments (from 1 - 90), specified by the RotationAngleRoundingValue parameter you have configured in Design Settings.

You can achieve a finer level of precision (less than one degree) by disabling Polar Mode () and Grid Snap () on the Status Bar.

Prerequisites

• A bundle containing a straight segment is displayed.

• A flex bundle is displayed in a full scale diagram (using the bend handle at the segment center).

Procedure

1. To bend segments using the Bend handles at the segment ends:Hover over or select the segment to bend.Figure 82: Bend Handles at the Segment Ends

Click the Bend icon, and rotate around the segment center.Dynamic graphics preview the new position of the bent segment. Figure 83: Preview of the Bent Segment

To bend with a grip point, continue to drag until you see the new position you require, and then release the mouse button. To bend with an arc, continue to drag and move the cursor beyond the radius of the handle until you see the arc size you require, and then release the mouse button. Click the Bend icon, and drag in a perpendicular direction to the segment.Dynamic graphics preview the new position of the bent segment.

To bend with a grip point, continue to drag until you see the new position you require, and then release the mouse button. To bend with an arc, continue to drag and move the cursor parallel to the segment until you see the arc size you require, and then release the mouse button.
