Status Bar

The Status Bar is located at the bottom of the application window.

Note

The availability of the elements on the Status Bar are not impacted by the Design Abstraction assigned to the design.

• Progress bar ()

Indicates when a task is running in the background. This displays only in a Windows environment. It displays for most actions but there are some scenarios where it may not display. ().

• Message bar ()

Located at the far left of the Status Bar. Provides tips regarding how to complete the action that you are currently carrying-out. When the tip is “Select” it indicates that clicking an object will select it.

• Auto-Generate Harness Connectors mode ()

Specifies whether auto-connect conductors and auto‑generate connectors are activated when you add a conductor to a device, or reposition existing conductors. See Adding Wires and Nets Using Auto-Generate Harness Connectors Mode. The default mode is On. The preference is preserved if you close the design or restart the application.

• Show / hide grid ()

Shows / hides the diagram grid. Note Even if the grid is hidden it still exists and objects that would otherwise snap to the grid continue to do so. See Setting Grid Defaults for a Diagram.

• Enable / disable object snapping ()

Specifies whether you can position and snap to align graphical shapes and objects automatically on a diagram. See Setting Snap To Object.

• Enable / disable grid snapping ()

• Auto-routing Indicates whether Auto-routing is enabled and which mode is currently selected. — Auto-routing is off.

— Auto-route Net is on. See Auto-Routing of Nets.

— Auto-route Signal is on. See Auto-Routing of Signals.

— Auto-route Full Signal is on. See Auto-Routing of Full Signals.

— Three-Phase Connection mode is on (Auto-routing is off). See Adding Three-Phase Wiring With Chamfered Connections.

• Highlight connectors with multiple part numbers ()

Highlights device connector mating errors, and displays the harness connector part numbers that are available in Capital Component Manager to validate the matings. See Selecting a Harness Connector Mating for a Device Connector.

• Enable / disable cross-hairs ()

Changes the cursor to and from crosshair mode. See “Changing the Cursor to Crosshair Mode” in the Capital Design Tools - Common Functions User Guide.

• Design Rule Checks toggle (Start Background Run () / Stop Background Run ()) Indicates whether design rule checks are running in the background. Click the toggle button (play icon) to start the checks running in the background. When running, the toggle button changes to a square (stop icon) that you can click to stop the checks running. The symbol next to the toggle button (Play / Stop icon) indicates whether the checks have currently found failures or not. See Design Rule Checks.

• Filtering ( / ) Indicates whether any filtering is being applied to the currently active diagram. Click to open the Capital Logic Designer Design Filter dialog box to apply filtering. See Filtering the Objects Displayed on a Diagram.

• Selected objects counter ()

Displays the number of objects (including text) that are selected on the currently active diagram.

• Location () Displays the position of the cursor relative to the center of the diagram, in the unit specified for the diagram.

• No background tasks running () / Performing auto recovery backup ()

Indicates when the system is saving an auto recovery backup.

• Username icon ()

Hover over this icon to display the name of the current user and any assigned roles.

• Active language ()

Indicates which diagram translation language is active. Default is EN (English). Tip To show / hide the Status Bar, press the space bar and enter Toggle Status Bar.
