Creating and Editing a

License Policy

When creating or editing a license policy, you select which licenses are included in it (that is, which licenses it enables).

Prerequisites

To create or edit license policies you must have the appropriate License Policy permissions assigned to your role or user account. See License Policy User Permissions for more information.

The video provides an example of creating license policies and assigning them to appropriate user groups in order to manage the checking out of licenses for particular users.

Procedure

Perform one of the following tasks.

Tip

It is recommended you restart the Capital Integration Server following an add, delete or update action on a user's license policies when related to any chsentreporter, capitalicd or capitaldiction license features.

If you want to...	Do the following:
Create a new license policy	Right-click the License Policies node in the Capital Access Manager browser tree and choose New. The Manage License Policies Dialog Box displays. In the Allow Use column, select the licenses that are included in the license policy. Click OK. The license policy displays below the License Policies node in the browser tree. You assign the policy to user groups. See Assigning and Editing License Policies in a User Group.
Edit an existing license policy	In the Capital Access Manager browser tree, either double-click the license policy, or right-click it and choose Edit. The Manage License Policies Dialog Box displays. If required, rename the policy in the Policy Name field. In the Allow Use column, select or unselect the appropriate licenses. Click OK. Any changes are applied to the user groups with the license policy. They apply the next time a user from those groups logs in to the applications.
Delete a license policy	In the Capital Access Manager browser tree, right-click the license policy and choose Delete. Note If it is assigned to a user group, a message asks whether you want to delete it. Click either Delete or Cancel. Deleting it automatically unassigns it from any user groups. The license policy no longer displays below the License Policies node.
