Generating Physical Wiring

You can convert wires to cables, add cable part numbers, create physical cables, and create electrical components, such as junction boxes, to generate the physical component data in the design.

You can perform the following task in Capital Cabling Designer to generate the physical wiring:

• Copy the logical schematic design to create the physical wiring schematic. See “Copying a Design Within a Project” in the Capital Project Manager User Guide.

• Automatically convert the logical connections to physical wires. See “Converting Nets to Wires” in the Capital Logic Designer User Guide.

• Convert the conductors to cables (multicores). See “Creating a Multicore or Overbraid” and “Quickly Adding a Multicore or Overbraid” in the Capital Logic Designer User Guide.

• Assign part numbers to cables individually or in batches. See “Assigning a New Library Part to an Object” and “Bulk Editing the Properties of Design Objects” in the Capital Design Tools - Common Functions User Guide.

• Create physical components, for example, junction boxes and terminal blocks. See “Devices and Connectors” in the Capital Logic Designer User Guide.

• Create termination components, for example, connectors and ring terminals, or generate terminations if your library definitions are updated.
