Synchronizing a Variant
Position Splice
Any edits made to a primary position splice will not be automatically applied to its variants; they must be synchronized manually.
Edits made to a variant position splice cannot be synchronized back to the primary position splice. Manual changes to splice variants are maintained on re-synchronization.
The following changes will be updated during synchronization:
- Terminated Wires
The following changes will not be updated during synchronization:
Any additional comment symbols associated with the primary position splice
Any in-edit styling overrides applied to the primary position splice
Synchronization can be performed for a single variant, for all variants of a primary position splice, or for all variants on a design:
To synchronize a single variant position splice with updated information from its primary position splice, right-click the variant position splice and select Synchronize From Primary Position Splice.
To synchronize all variant position splices with updated information from the primary position splice to which they belong, right-click the primary position splice and select Synchronize Variant Position Splices.
To synchronize all variant position splices on a design with updated information from their primary position splices, press Space Bar and enter Synchronize Variant Position Objects. You will be asked to confirm the synchronization; click Yes to proceed or No to cancel. Note Synchronize Variant Position Objects will synchronize all variant position connectors and splices on a design.
To synchronize all variant position wiring on a design to ensure that all primary connectors and primary splices contain the correct wiring, press Space Bar and enter Refresh Variant Position Wiring. You will be asked to confirm the synchronization; click Yes to proceed or No to cancel.
