Add Breakout Tape Dialog

To access: Press Space Bar and enter Breakout Tape (requires click to place on a junction).

Used to add an application of breakout tape to a junction.

Field	Description
General Tab
Name	A unique label for the breakout tape (within this design). Type a name, or click the ellipsis (...) button to the right of the field to select from a list of pre-specified breakout tape names maintained in the project’s Object Type Information in Capital Project Manager. If this field is left blank, the breakout tape is named according to any default names configured for the project in Capital Project Manager. Optional.
Insulation Code	Offers a list of all insulation codes created for the project in Capital Project Manager. Select the required code from the dropdown list, and then click the Apply Code button; the Attribute table displays each the tape attributes configured within the code. Click the button to remove the association with the code (leaving all breakout tape layers created from the code intact). See “Creating and Defining an Insulation Code for an Object Type” in the Capital Project Manager User Guide to create insulation codes. Optional.
Library Part	Specifies an association with a tape part in the library. Select the required library part number type (Internal, Customer, or Supplier) and click the ellipsis (...) button. The Part Selection Dialog Box is displayed to search for and insert a tape from the library. Click the button to view details for the associated part. Click the button to remove the associated part. Optional.
BOM ID	Specifies a unique identifier to be displayed against the component in the Bill of Materials table, the Composite BOM table and in Bill of Material reports generated from Capital E/E Reporter. This attribute is only available when a library part is assigned. Optional. BOM IDs can be automatically prefixed in tables and reports based on project preferences you have configured.
Color Code	Specifies the color of the tape. Either type a color code into the field, or select a code from the dropdown list. Optional.
Layer	Specifies the position of the breakout tape relative to other insulations applied to the bundle. Breakout tapes are always placed furthest from the bundle, on top of all other insulations; therefore, this value is set to 1000 and cannot be amended. You can give multiple layers the same layer number. Read-only.
Material Code	Specifies the material from which the tape is made. Select a material code from the dropdown list. Optional.
MCad ID	If the harness was bridged in from another application (such as Capital Harness Classic or an MCAD application), this field displays the breakout tape's unique identifier as derived from the external data. Read-only.
Thickness	Specifies the thickness of the tape. This value is used when calculating the extra diameter added to a bundle by the application of a spot tape. Optional.
Turns at Breakout	Specifies the number of times the tape should be wrapped around the center of the junction. Optional.
Turns on Branch	Specifies the number of times the tape should be wrapped around each bundle leaving the junction. Optional.
Type Code	Offers a list of component type codes, as maintained in Capital Component Manager, which can be used to filter the selection of components displayed when searching for a tape using the Part Selection Dialog Box. Optional.
Width	Specifies the width of the tape. Optional.
Option Expression	Specifies the derivatives in which the breakout tape exists. To create or edit an option expression, click the ellipsis (...) button to the right of the field and use the Edit Option Expression Dialog Box. Alternatively, you can enter or modify an option expression directly within the field. Optional.
User FM Codes	(This field is only available for Capital Harness Designer Modular) Specifies the user defined functional module codes assigned to the component. To assign, or unassign a functional module code, click the ellipsis (...) button to the right of the field and use the User Defined Functional Module Codes Dialog Box. Optional.
Generated FM Codes	(This field is only available for Capital Harness Designer Modular) Specifies the system or plugin generated functional module codes assigned to the component. Note: Technical module and user defined codes override system generated codes during assignation or module breakdown. Optional.
User PM Codes	(This field is only available for Capital Harness Designer Modular) Specifies the user defined production module codes assigned to the component. To assign or unassign a production module code, click the ellipsis (...) button to the right of the field and use the User Defined Production Module Codes Dialog Box. Optional.
Generated PM Codes	(This field is only available for Capital Harness Designer Modular) Specifies the system or plugin generated production module codes assigned to the component. Note: Technical module and user defined codes override system generated codes during assignation or module breakdown. Optional.

Usage Notes

If a library part is selected, all attributes for which values can be specified against the library part are completed and set to read-only.
BOM IDs can be automatically prefixed in tables and reports based on preferences configured for the project.
