Apply Child Harness

Design Attribute Dialog Box

To access:

To use rules and constraints or to make manual updates to child design attributes and properties - Select Apply Child Harness Design Attribute Constraints from the Rules action on the Automate ribbon (or use the keyboard shortcut “Shift + C”). This action is only enabled if the project has a rule defined that uses a Design Attributes and Properties constraint and: A parent diagram is open. or

Where a parent diagram is not open, you have selected a parent design or child design(s) in the harness browser.

To make manual updates to displayed child design attributes (Design Attribute Constraint field is not available) - Right-click one or more child designs in the Harness Design Browser and select Edit Child Design Attributes. When accessed in this manner, the dialog box title displays as “Edit Child Design Attributes”

Use to automatically apply changes to child design attributes or properties using predefined rules. You can also make manual changes. This video shows how to use the dialog box.

Objects

Object	Description
Include	Select to apply changes to design in this row.
Name	Name of the child design.
Part Number	Part number of the child design.
Revision	Revision of the child design.
Short Description	Short Description of the child design.
Design Type	Type of child design. Derivative / Functional / Production / Derivative Group.
Design Abstraction	Abstraction of the design. Double-click in a cell to display a list to choose a valid abstraction.
Take Rate	Child design Take Rate
Customer Name	Customer set on the child design.
Customer Part Number	Customer Part Number set on the child design.
Customer Issue	Customer Issue set on the child design.
Design Attribute Constraint Apply	These fields do not display if you have accessed the dialog box using the right-click “Edit Child Design Attributes” method. Specifies the rule to apply to the selected designs. See the Design Attributes and Properties Constraints Overview topic for full details.
OK	Saves any changes.

Usage Notes

Double-click into cells to make manual edits.
Click column headers to filter their display. See “Filter Popup” in the Capital Design Tools - Common Functions User Guide.
Red entries are invalid. Hover over to display tooltip. Figure 499: Tooltip
