Creating a Notch in a Wire, Net, or Shield Termination

Horizontal and vertical sections of wires, nets, and shield terminations can be notched to move a sub‑section away from the main route of the conductor.

Procedure

1. For the wire, net, or shield termination to notch:Select a section of the conductor, and then press the space bar and enter Notch.

Right-click a section of the conductor and select Notch.

2. Click two points on the conductor to define the sub‑section of the conductor to be moved.A shadow route displays where the new sections of the conductor will be created.

3. Drag the sub-section to the required location and click to place it.

Results

Two new sections perpendicular to the sub-section that was dragged are automatically created to connect the dragged sub‑section to the rest of the conductor.
