Assigning

Wires From Library Multicores to Wires in a Design

When you assign a library part to an existing multicore, you must assign the inner cores from the library part definition to wires in the multicore in the design.

Prerequisites

  • Perform “Assigning a New Library Part to an Object” in the Capital Design Tools - Common Functions User Guide, and click Insert in the Part Selection Dialog Box.

Procedure

  1. In the Assign Library Multicore Dialog Box, for each wire in the multicore:Select the wire in the Library Multicore list. In the Group list, select the conductors to associate the library multicore wire with and click Assign. Tip You can select the wire in the Group list and click Unassign to cancel an assignment. To automatically assign all wires, select the multicore node in both the Library Multicore list and Group list, and then click Assign.

  2. Click OK to exit the Assign Library Multicore dialog box.The Properties Dialog Box is displayed.

  3. Click OK.

Results

  • All the inner cores you assigned from the library part (including cases where the library part has more cores than your design multicore) are added to the existing multicore. See also Adding an Instance of a Shared Multicore or Overbraid Inner Core Wire or Net.
